Want to be smooth inFinal Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail? Want to be fresh? Well, the latest patch certainly has your number. If there’s one aspect ofFinal Fantasy XIVthat Square Enix does right is its aesthetics. There is a huge array of different clothes, emotes, minions and various other things to express yourself, but the more recent Face Ware helps expand upon this. With the latest major update, we see a new set of glasses being introduced, ones that will no doubt be worn by anyone who has any style.

How to Obtain the Dazed Emote in FFXIV

One of the handful of new emotes in Final Fantasy XIV’s 7.2 patch, here’s how to obtain the colorful Dazed emote.

What are Groovy Glasses?

The Groovy Glasses are a new accessory introduced in patch 7.2. Fashion Accessories were introduced in Endwalker originally in the form of Umbrellas and Parasols, but have moved further past that with backpacks and wings. This eventually expanded to facial wear that could be equipped directly to your character through the Character Profile menu.

The Groovy Glasses fall into this category, being slightly larger sunglasses with numerous tinted varieties. They are meant to mimic theDancing Greencharacter’s iconic sunglasses that he uses to bust a move. Their original design sports a stylish purple tint, and even grows much further to the sides when Dancing Green transforms into this frog form.

How to Obtain the Groovy Glasses

When completing any final floor of a raid, be it on theNormalorSavagedifficulties, we’re generally rewarded with a minion to be rolled on. It’s something that has been carried forth sinceHeavensward, even being tied to each Alliance Raid, too. Well, it looks like Dawntrail is breaking tradition with the AAC Cruiserweight division raid tier as there’s no minion to be found.

As you might expect, in the place of the minion is the Groovy Glasses. All that needs to be done is defeat theHowling Bladein the AAC Cruiserweight M4 raid (or M8 for some). It’s not only the Normal version of the raid that drops it, but the Savage version also has the Groovy Glasses in its loot table if you’re someone who goes straight to the hardest difficulty right away.

Thankfully, the Howling Blade is a pretty easy boss to fight, with really the only difficult mechanic being the tower mech, where the boss will cut down three erected pillars, and they will fall based on how they’re cut. It’s a mechanic that has been around since Hashmal inStormblood’s Royal City of Rabanastre Alliance Raid. Ironically, this mechanic is infinitely easier on Savage.

Regardless, once the boss is taken down, open the chest and roll on the glasses in hopes you will score a high roll. Otherwise, this raid, like many others, can be spammed until you get it (although Savage will still have a weekly lockout).
