In its two years of existence,Honkai: Star Railhas won over fans of the gacha genre and MiHoYo’s general catalog with several fantastic story arcs and a wonderful cast of characters. The general premise of exploring the galaxy and visiting at least one new planet per year has led the game to have a diverse story that can throw players for a loop every few months.

Games available on PlayStation 5 which any JRPG fans owes it to themselves to play!
With there now being multiple planets and story arcs in the game, an obvious question arises: which one is the best? While most players have a general opinion on which one is the worst, deciding on the best can be rather difficult. If one were to judge the planets based on their designs, story arcs, and characters, however, then the following list of the best planets in Honkai: Star Rail can be formed.

5Herta Space Station
A Genius' Home
When booking up Honkai: Star Rail for the first time, players will immediately find themselves thrown headfirst into the sci-fi setting of the game as they must defend a space station against an attack from strange creatures. After going through the tutorial here, the player will have freedom to explore the space station to do some sidequests, perform their very firstgacha pulland get used to interacting with characters in the world of Star Rail.
The Herta Space Station is placed at the bottom of this list for one simple reason: it’s hardly a planet. After the tutorial sequence, players will leave this place and only occasionally return to it for optional events. As the game has gone on, only a handful of introduced characters have been from the Herta Space Station as most instead have origins on other planets. If there was another story arc that took place on this space station, it may have placed higher, but for now, it must be on the bottom of this list.

4The Xianzhou Luofu
Boxes upon boxes
Next up on the list is the first planet added to Honkai: Star Rail after the initial 1.0 content: the Xianzhou Luofu. Because MiHoYo is a Chinese company, it’s only fitting that the second story arc of the game was centered around a sci-fi version of China. Sadly a lot of the environments on this planet do not take advantage of that as the player will instead be spending a lot of their first visit on this planet navigating around shipping containers.
10 Longest JRPGs To Play
From Persona 5 to Rune Factory Frontier and Genshin Impact, these are some of the longest and most content-laden JRPGs ever.
While Xianzhou Luofu was once considered by the fandom to be the worst planet in Honkai: Star Rail due to it having a mediocre initial arc, as players have repeatedly returned to this planet for both events and a second story arc, it and fantasticcharacters like Huohuohave begun to be appreciated by fans. While it cannot rank high on this list due to its initial reputation, it must at least rank higher than the Space Station.

3Jarilo-VI
Warmth in the Tundra
Following Xianzhou Luofu on this list is the first real planet that was introduced in Honkai: Star Rail, Jarilo-VI. This floating rock is covered from head to toe in an icy tundra, with the only populated areas that the player knows about being the large city of Belobog and the slums known as the Underground. This planet and the conflict it was facing set the stage for all future story arcs within the game.
Because it was the first planet introduced, Jarilo-VI is also the planet that the players will find themselves returning to most often. Whether it be to compete in aPokémon-esque tournament or save the planet from being put in eternal debt, players are always more than happy to visit their old friends on Belobog, which earns their planet a placement at the halfway point of this list.

The amazing boss theme at the end of this story arc certainly gave it a few points on this ranking as well.
2Amphoreus
Rise to Godhood
Next up on the list is the most recent planet in Honkai: Star Rail and the focus of the current story arc: Amphoreus. This sci-fi version of ancient Greece has immediately endeared itself to players with a great cast of characters and fun environmental gimmicks that involve switching between time periods in order to solve puzzles and open treasure chests.
The current storyline of characters attempting to ascend to the status of deities and the many tragedies that befall the cast during it has begun to tug at players' heartstrings in downright cruel ways since this planet arc started. While Amphoreus is currently proving to be a great story arc, it would feel disingenuous to rank it at the top of this list due to the planet not yet being complete. A lot can change within the next few patches, so for now it must rank behind the planet that came before it.

The Never-Ending Dream
Placing first on the list is a dream-like planet where the party never stops: Penacony. After the long wait and build-up between the release of the Xianzhou Luofu and this planet, it did not disappoint. Nearly every aspect of Star Rail that the fan base talks about comes from this planet. From characters to plot points to even music, Penacony blew every prior area of the game out of the water and continues to be the peak of Honkai: Star Rail’s story.
From kind-hearted support characters like Robin and Aventurine to beings of pure chaos and mischief like Jade and Sparkle, it’s hard to consider any character introduced in this arc as anything but fantastic. In addition to all of this, Penacony’s status as a dream planet also appears to have created a gateway for collaborations and crossovers such as the upcoming one with the gacha gameFate/Grand Order and its characters. With all of this put together, it would be difficult not to rank Penacony at the top of this list.
