In the latest The Sims 4live streamhighlighting the free Infants update and upcoming Growing Together expansion pack, we gained a ton of information about the new additions each will make. While many of us are interested in things like new clothing and furniture options, there were plenty of other features worth discussing.

The New Sims 4 Infants Update Adds Much-Needed Child Safety Options and Surrogacy

During the Infants update section of the live stream, the team talked about a wide range of new additions, from Create-a-Sim features to surrogacy features. In particular, surrogacy, also known as the “Science Baby” option in the game, is an addition allowing any Sim, including those in non-romantic relationships, to have a child. For a fee, you’re able to have a Science Baby as either a single parent or with another Sim, allowing you more chances to create unique stories with your household.

Another notable feature the Infant update will introduce is child safety and baby-proofing options on doors, playpens and other entrances. While many of us enjoy chaotic playthroughs, those who want to keep their babies safe can use this option to keep infants out of certain places while allowing adults to enter and exit as they please.

There’s Also Exciting Create-A-Sim Additions

Alongside these, the update has plenty of other quality-of-life additions to change up your Sims and add more customization. Some points mentioned during the live stream include adding stretch marks, c-section scars, birthmarks and options to make characters produce milk. It also provides plenty of new furniture, from small knickknacks to bassinets for your child Sims.

The free Sims 4 Infants Update will release on August 11, 2025, with the Growing Together Expansion Pack releasing two days later on August 08, 2025!
