The Boondock Saintsare back, with a new movie in the action thriller franchise now in the works. BothNorman Reedusand Sean Patrick Flanery are all set to return as the gun-wielding brothers Murphy and Connor MacManus, with Thunder Road, the producer behind theJohn Wickmovies joining forces with rights holder Dragonfly Films to create this “expansion” of the series, which centers on two vigilante brothers who wage a war on crime in their hometown of Boston.

According to a report byDeadline, director Troy Duffy, who helmed both the 1999 originalThe Boondock Saintsand the 2009 sequelThe Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, will not return for this third movie and the search for a new filmmaker is now underway.

Some plot details forThe Boondock Saints 3have also been revealed, with the sequel centering on “the indoctrination of new ‘Saints.’”
