Sucker Punch announcedGhost of Yoteilast September, an open-world adventure forPlayStation 5that follows in the footsteps ofGhost of Tsushima.However, this new story takes placehundreds of years laterand in a completely different location.
Many players expectedGhost of Yoteito make an appearance at recent events such asThe Game Awards 2024or the latest State of Play, but Sony instead focused on other projects, including Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet byNaughty Dogand Saros byHousemarque.
Still on Track for This Year
Andrew Goldfarb, head of communications at Sucker Punch, reaffirmed the 2025 launch plans in a recent job listing seeking a communications specialist to"help launch the game this year."

This new entry in the Ghost series is set in the region surroundingMount Yotei. It will emphasizewildlife and a more diverse worldcompared to Tsushima. Additionally, the game will introducenew dangers, as the protagonist will no longer have the support of theorganized samurai clansseen in the previous game. Another notable addition is the introduction offirearmsinto combat.
A Likely Summer Release?
Many players believeGhost of Yoteiwill launchin the summer, ahead of the highly anticipatedGrand Theft Auto VI. Most publishers—except for one that jokingly acknowledges it—are expected to avoid releasing their games too close to Rockstar’s next blockbuster due to its inevitable dominance in the market.
