Threat Level
Before you see theQueen Crawler, small groupings of small crawlerZedswill pour in from different parts of the map towards you. These have low health and can be dealt with easily. The Queen Crawler will then appear, crawling on all of its appendages withmultiple glowing spotsalong its back, inside its mouth, and located near its hips. Focus fire on the bright spots to stagger the Queen while keeping an eye on the smaller crawlers running around.
The Queen Crawler will depositweb trapsthat can slow you and your team down, as well as eggs that will hatch into more crawler zeds. Mark the eggs and destroy them with your team to avoid getting overwhelmed in the later stages. Avoid the webs by sliding through them or mantling to high ground altogether.
When the Queen Crawler opens her mouth, fire at theglowing spoton the roof of her mouth to cause her to back off. As her health gets lower, she will start targeting members of the team by lunging at them. Her jumps cause smallAOE damageand can knock a low-health team member out if not managed. Use your dodge to sidestep and step out of the way of her lunges, and if possible, mantle up to higher ground to avoid her rampage.
If a teammate is down, use yourmedics' sanctumaround them to revive them quickly, as the Queen Crawler will rush towards them to try and execute them. If you are close to your teammate, do not continue shooting the Queen; focus on revival first before returning to the fight.
At the depletion of the first half of her health bar, the Queen will begin to writhe as large purple craters called mire portals appear along the ground. Quickly back up and away from the area, as multitudes of crawler Zeds will emerge, as well as the Queen could burrow underground and use the portals to attack the players by protecting herself from oncoming fire before lunging.
Continue to fire at the Queen’s gaping mouth to lower her health quickly. If you have aFirebugon the team, have them throw their Molotov cocktail at the Insectoid’s mouth while using their Wildfire gadget to deal with the crawling Zeds that erupt from the ground.
Soon enough, the Queen will wither and be unable to sustain the amount of damage affecting her, causing her demise. Once she goes down, you’ll receive the achievement:Noble Bloodand the achievement:Royal Flushfor completing the challenge in Hard mode.
