Just yesterday, Pwn20wndupdated the unc0ver jailbreakwith support for @NedWilliamson’sSock Puppetexploit, which brought official support for iOS versions 12.1.3-12.2. This afternoon, Pwn20wnd updatedunc0veragain, bringing the tool up to version 3.3.0 beta 3.
Pwn20wnd announced the update via Twitter just this morning, noting that it incorporates several bug fixes:
Pwn20wnd also noted that the Sock Puppet exploit is particularly unreliable on a small subset of iOS 12.2 devices, but despite this fact, it’s still usable. With that in mind, Pwn20wnd will attempt to clean the exploit up some more to see if it can be made more stable.
As for unc0ver v3.3.0 beta 3, the official change log on the unc0ver GitHub repository cites the following changes:
26-07-2025 – v3.3.0~b3 was released for public testing with the following changes:
– Re-implement the sock_puppet exploit– Fix logging with the sock_puppet exploit– Fix a bug in RootFS remount on iOS 12.2– Enable the Sock Puppet exploit on iOS 12.0-12.1.2 A12 devices and disable it on 4K devices for now
In addition to fixing some issues with the new Sock Puppet exploit, unc0ver v3.3.0 beta 3 disables it on 4K devices for the time being, as it seems to be broken on these devices at the time of this writing. The update also makes the rootFS restore feature more stable on iOS 12.2 devices, which permits users to restore back to a non-jailbrokenstate on demand without upgrading their firmware version via iTunes.
If you’re already using unc0ver, then we advise deploying the latest version at your earliest convenience to ensure that you’re taking advantage of the latest fixes and improvements. Those who haven’t used it yet may want to hold off until the tool reaches its final release stages, as it’s currently in beta testing.
