Speaking toFlip Your Wig,Wright was asked about her role inAvengers: Doomsday. Wright was among the many names announced as part of theDoomsdaycast in Marvel Studios ' five-hour live-stream. Wright mentioned her time in the past two Avengers movies, but this time she gets to have a bigger part in the story. She didn’t go into specifics, but is excited to be part of the film’s cast. Wright said:
“It’s just an ensemble of greatness, so I was just really excited to be a part of it. I’ve been a part of it before but in a more smaller way. Now I have a little bit more.”

Feige putting the Wakandans as separate is interesting as it raises questions about Shuri and the Black Panther’s role in the film and her place within the larger MCU.Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverended with M’Baku (Winston Duke) as the new King of Wakanda, with Shuri seemingly only serving as the Black Panther. Many expected Shuri to be one of Sam Wilson’s Avengers recruits, yet Feige’s comments suggest she has remained a protector of Wakanda, apart from any proper team affiliation.

Winston Duke will return as M’Baku, and Tenoch Huerta is set to reprise his role as Namor.Wakanda Foreverended with an uneasy alliance between Wakanda and Namor’s underwater kingdom of Talokan.
