Timothée Chalamet Shocks Fans at a Look-Alike Contest in New York

The Complete Unknown star delighted fans when he surprised everyone and dropped in at the Washington Square Park event.

On the flip side, Sweeny’s film,The Housemaid, is based on the novel by Freida McFadden that was published in 2022, and stars theImmaculateactress as Millie, a struggling woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew, an upscale, wealthy couple. Who Will Reign Supreme at the Box Office Next Christmas?

Of course, with Chalamet and Sweeney both having movies premiere on Christmas Day 2025, the question now becomes: who will reign supreme. The answer?Neither one of them. As much as we like to think they have a lot of drawing power – and they do to a certain extent – they’re no match for the legendary James Cameron, who has a film of his own debuting the week before. Maybe you’ve heard of it?It’s calledAvatar: Fire and Ash.

That’s right, the highly anticipated third entry in Cameron’sAvatarfranchise is set to debut on Jul 03, 2025, meaning any chance of either Chalamet or Sweeney taking top spot at the box office is pretty much null and void at this point. They’ll most likely battle it out for second place, but it should be noted that Universal has an untitled event film in the works that could also debut on Christmas, which could affect things in a major way.

Will either A24 or Lionsgate decide to err on the side of caution and moveMarty SupremeorThe Housemaidto a different date? The verdict is still out on that one, but given the highly competitive nature of the Christmas box office, it’s likely things will stay as they are. Chalamet will compete with another film this holiday season, that being Robert Eggers’Nosferatu, which opens on Dec. 25alongside his Bob Dylan biopic,A Complete Unknown. Whatever happens, the true winners are the fans, who are definitely eating good at the movies these days.
