One of the bigger mysteries inTears of the Kingdomis hard to miss flying around the skies of Hyrule. The Light Dragon can be a tricky beast to track down at first, but you’re bound to spot it multiple times throughout your adventure. And multiple bits of evidence point to the Light Dragon’s true nature and origin. But let’s figure out whether the Light Dragon is Zelda inTears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom: Is Zelda the Light Dragon

First things first, there are two things you should do before anything else inTears of the Kingdomif you want to know the truth about the Light Dragon. The first thing is tocollect the 12 Dragon Tearsspread throughout Hyrule. These give us a glimpse into the past and detail what happened to Zelda. The other thing to do is actuallyfinish the story. Doingeither of these will provide you with the answer you want. But if you’re still in need of confirmation, we’ll get right into it.

Long story short, yes,Zelda is in fact the Light Dragon. This is confirmed by the final Dragon Tear. In a previous memory, Mineru states that to “swallow a secret stone [is] to become an immortal dragon.” And in a last-ditch effort to eventually stop Ganondorf and repair the broken Master Sword, Zelda becomes the Light Dragon to survive throughout the centuries. Of course, it’s not too hard to guess the Light Dragon’s true nature even before this scene. It’s the only one of the four dragons to possess golden hair and have its core attribute be light. All of which are telltale signs that the Light Dragon is Zelda.
