Playlist Vendors
Playlist vendors, likeCommander Zavala,Lord ShaxxandThe Drifter, offer Ascendant Shards as rank-up rewards. You will have to reachRank 16with each of these vendors to be able to claim one Ascendant Shard from them.
Master and Grandmaster Nightfalls
MasterandGrandmaster Nightfallsin Destiny 2 offer Ascendant Shards as rewards forplatinum completions. On Master difficulty, the Ascendant Shards have a drop rate of around 33%. However, you can get at least one Ascendant Shard for every platinum completion on Grandmaster difficulty.
Season Pass
You will be able to earn these Ascendant Shards from the Season Pass as well. These shards are available atLevel 85,90, and94. However, you will be able to claim these items once per account.
