The famous Alcatraz prison near San Francisco may not be a functional prison anymore, functioning mainly as a tourist attraction, but inTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, skaters have turned it into one heck of a skate park. Here, we are ferried onto the island where we’re able to skate around the prison and even break into it, grinding the broken-down railings and entering the cells. There are quite a few collectibles to find, with a couple of them fairly well hidden.

Nosegrind the Foghorn rail
This is a pretty straightforward request. You will need to Nosegrind (BS or otherwise) the railing near the Foghorn. This is located at the top of the hill near where the main skate park is located. You’ll see a cameraman waiting to take your photo looking out in the bay and the large red Foghorn pointing out there. Simply press Up+Triangle (or Up+X on Xbox) to Nosegrind the railing to get the achievement.

Spine Transfer into the Water Tower
This can be a tricky one to maneuver because it’s not immediately apparent what you need to do. From the start of the map, head in a straight line until you come across a small pathway that will teleport you up one level. After going through this, head up to the left where you’ll find two pools, one empty and one filled with guck. To empty out the full pool, you will need to grind along the backside of the pool where there will be a valve. Hop into the now-emptied-out pool and gather some speed. You’ll want as much momentum as possible as you’ll be transferring into the tower above. Once you have enough, simply press RT/R2 when you’re high enough to break your way into the tower.
Release the Prisoner
This goal is a little strange. Your objective is to check the five garbage bins spread around Alcatraz to find a key to unlock the entrance of the prison.
- Head forward from the start of the level until you hit the first ramp up. In the middle of the poorly trimmed bushes will be the first bin.
At the start of the level, head through the Parade Grounds entrance to the left. This will teleport you to a level up. Look to the immediate left and the bin is on the edge you can grind.
On the opposite side of the Grounds, fairly close to the Foghorn, you will find this bin up on the cement railing and grass.
If you continue to grind the railing towards the prison from #3, this bin will be next to a patrolling security guard.
The final one is located directly in front of the entrance of the prison next to the lighthouse.
Get the secret tape
to obtain the secret tape, you will need to complete the Release the Prisoner goal. Theoretically, this can be done without opening the prison, but it’s just significantly easier to do so. After doing so, head to the second floor of the small prison area and jump out the window, or grind outside of it where the secret tape is located.

At the furthest part of the level there will be a spiral ramp. To get to the top of Alcatraz to go down the ramp, all you need to do is take the portal next to the entrance of the prison. You’re also able to get up here from immediately below the ramp itself. Take the ramp down and angle yourself and then jump off the end in the middle of the ramp to hit the Iron Galaxy logo out in the bay.
Hidden Deck
You’ll be able to see the Hidden Deck very early on, but it’s challenging to actually obtain it. When you can see it, take the ramp up to the second level. You will see three cones on the ground. Head down and take the ramp to the pillar. Grind the railing behind the stack and jump across to the back of the building. This will take you along a couple of railings that will eventually allow you to jump through a window into the Hidden Deck.
