If you want to go into the computer programmer career in BitLife, then you need to plan ahead to get a university degree. Unless you have the Golden Diploma, which lets you instantly get a degree without preparation. To do this, you want to keep your Smarts bar high. Usually,keeping it above 80 is acceptable. You can perform actions that increase your Smarts if your bar is too low, as your starting level tends to be randomized, unless you use God Mode to manually adjust it. These actions include:

Then, once you graduate high school, choose the “Apply for University” option. To be a computer programmer,you need either computer science or information systems majorsfor your degree. Unfortunately, not all majors show up each year. If you can’t find one of these majors on the list, back out of going to university and grab a random job. Then, check the university majors next year. Repeat this until you can pick the correct major, and then go through your university years.

Once you have your degree,check the full-time job listings for “Jr. Computer Programmer.“Just like university majors, not every job shows up on the list each time. So if you don’t find the right one, you’re able to grab a random job for the sake of earning income, then check in next year to see what jobs are there.

Repeat this until you findJr. Computer Programmer, in which case you’ll successfully be on the computer programmer career path. For challenges like the Nerd Challenge, getting the first level of the computer programming job is enough to mark the task as complete in BitLife.
