While the official release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered only includes the campaign, an incredibly talented team of modders has fully recreated MW2 multiplayer with a new mod called H2M for the original Modern Warfare Remastered.
H2M is aremastered version of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayerfeaturing all the maps, modes, and weapons that you remember from 2009. In addition to upgraded maps and graphics, there are also new maps inspired by theModern Warfare 2 Remastered campaignand a full progression system with unlocks, camo challenges, and prestige ranks. It’s pretty easy to set up, too.
How to install and play MW2 Remastered multiplayer with H2M
UPDATE:The H2M team has received a cease-and-desist order from Activision and has shut down the mod.
Today, our team members received a Cease & Desist order on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the H2M-Mod project. We are complying with this order and shutting down all operations immediately and permanently.
To install the H2M mod to play Modern Warfare 2 Remastered multiplayer,you need to own 2017’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered on Steam. The game retails for $40, but you can regularly find it on sale for $20 (It’s currently on sale through August 14). Thankfully, you also don’t need the Variety Map Pack DLC.
Because it’s easy to get confused, we’d like to stress thatyou do not need to own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered.You don’t need the original 2009 version of Modern Warfare 2 either. You only have to buy Modern Warfare Remastered.

After installing Modern Warfare Remastered, visit theofficial H2M mod website. There, you’ll find an installer that will set up everything for you automatically.H2M will be officially released on Friday, August 16, so you’ll have to wait a few more days before you can download it. Once the weekend hits, though, it’ll be like 2009 all over again.
All maps and modes in H2M
H2M includesevery map from the original releaseof Modern Warfare 2. This includes the DLC maps as well. It also includesmaps inspired by the MW2 campaignplusevery map from Modern Warfare Remasteredon top of that, so there are 54 multiplayer maps in total.
In addition to all those maps, there are alsomultiple game modesavailable in H2M.
H2M is a huge mod that feels like an official release from Activision, so get in there and try it while you can before the inevitable legal trouble hits the modding team. It’s a great way to pass the time while waiting for theBlack Ops 6 beta.
