Audiences would have never guessed that, in 2001,Fast & Furiouswas going to become a household name. It seems almost impossible that the franchise has gotten as big as it has; after all, the first film was a straightforward racing action movie. Somehow, the movies have beat the odds and have become one of the biggest multi-billion dollar franchises the world of racing has ever seen. There have been nine films with a tenth film,Fast X, set to premiere in May 2023, and if fans include theHobbs and Shawspinoffs, there are technically 11 films in the series.
The little franchise that could may have started off with humble beginnings as a racing movie, but has turned into chaos in the best way possible. Now, Toretto’s crew has evolved to global espionage and adventure, which seems like the films are shooting for the stars. The franchise has had someoutlandish on-screen stuntsand impossible storylines, but continues to exceed all expectations since it has some of the most amazing ensemble casts out there.Fast Xis no different, and has a massive list of characters set to appear.
Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw
Played byJason Statham, Deckard Shaw became part of Toretto’s crew inThe Fate of the Furious, which, in turn, gave him his own spin-off inHobbs & Shaw. Shaw was even given his ownpost-credit scene inF9that showed he would once again be joining Dom’s crew inFast X.

Helen Mirren as Queenie Shaw
Deckard Shaw’s mother, Queenie Shaw (Helen Mirren), is returning to theFast & Furiousworld. This is the fourth appearance in the franchise, with her first film beingThe Fate of the Furious, when Dom uses her as a proxy to hire her sons Deckard and Owen. She is also the leader of a female militia.Cinema Blendreports that Queenie has a tender moment with Dom inFast X.
John Cena as Jakob Toretto
Jakob Toretto (John Cena) is the older brother to Mia and Dom Toretto, who hasn’t seen his siblings in years. He used to work for Mr. Nobody, but he decided to team up with Cipher to get revenge against his own brother. Dom and Jakob have made amends since the end ofF9.
Ludacris as Tej Parker
Tej Parker (Ludacris) is an old friend of Brian’s that made his first appearance in the franchise during2 Fast 2 Furious. He’s a mechanic, but also seems to be the team’s go-to tech expert throughout multiple films.
Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce
Played byTyrese Gibson, Roman Pearce is Brian’s childhood friend in2 Fast 2 Furious. He’s an expert street racer, but is also the chattiest member of the crew.Gibson told Colliderthat fans should fasten their seatbelts asFast Xis taking their action globally.
Sung Kang as Han
The first ever appearance ofSung Kang’s Han was in the third filmFast & Furious: Tokyo Drift, where he is killed in a car crash. Any film after the third one is set before the events inTokyo DriftuntilFurious 7. Han joined Dom’s crew inFast & Furiousand quickly became a fan favorite, which is howJustice for Hanbecame a campaign for the fandom. InF9, it was revealed that Han never died, but actually faked his death to work for Mr. Nobody.
Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto
Mia (Jordana Brewster) is Dom’s little sister and Brian’s wife. She tends to stay away from the more intense action ever since she had kids. That said, Mia does have some knowledge about cars, which is why she and Brian had an instant connection. After a break, Mia returned inF9to help Dom with Jakob, and now fans will see more of her inFast X.
Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz
Michelle Rodriguez’sLetty started off in the franchise as Dom’s girlfriend and mechanic. She is also one of the top drivers within in Dom’s crew. Letty seemed to die in the fourth film, but inFast and Furious 6,it is revealed that she is still alive and has amnesia. DuringFurious 7, it is revealed that Dom and Letty are actually married.
Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto
Dom (Vin Diesel) is the leader of this motley crew of drivers and tech experts. He started as a street-racer in L.A., but has managed to lead his crew to pull off heists and government jobs. Dom seems to have three core values that he models his life afterm which are: family, fast cars, and an ice-cold Corona.
Cardi B as Leysa
Leysa (Cardi B) is an old friend of Dom’s and a sister to Cara, who is one of his crew members fromFast & Furious, according toVulture. She currently runs a female-only band of mercenaries and helps Dom when she can. Leysa also seems to have some sort of connection to Queenie Shaw that hasn’t been explored yet.
