The latest Everdark Sovereign inElden Ring Nightreigncomes in the form of the flying menace that is Caligo. Fissure in the Fog was one of the more challenging expeditions, not because of the difficulty in the patterns, but just how annoying it was to get him to land for melee attackers to get their licks in. With that said, its difficulty could be mitigated thanks to the Power you get in the Mountaintops level, and having the ability to shift the earth now makes it far easier. Still, this new Everdark Sovereign offers a lot more than just a challenging encounter.

The latest addition to the Everdark collection, take down the majestic jellyfish Maris.
Caligo, Miasma of Night Moveset
Description
Transformation
The boss will come down to the ground and wrap himself in his wings.
Glacial Explosion
Caligo will place an icicle in front of him and will blast it and then leave constant frostbite.
Similar to the original form, Caligo will do a flyby with various, larger icicles flying towards a player.

Caligo will wind up its tail by getting on its two hind legs, and will throw out a tail slash forward. Simply be close to him to avoid it.
Explosive Nature
Caligo will get on the ground and begin to charge up a large AOE explosion.
Explosive Breath
Caligo will breathe in a circular pattern that will leave large explosive icicles on the ground.
Unlike most of the other Everdark Sovereigns, you don’t actually have to defeat the initial form to get to the new phase. Instead, Caligo will go into his true Everdark Sovereign form after around 25% of the fight. He will land, wrap his wings around himself and project a black aura all around him. At this point, you’ll want to run away because he will do a medium-size AOE around his body that will tick for multiple hits.

After this, Caligo will perform a number of large attacks that generally do strong cold damage. It’s highly advised to face this Night Lord while shifting the world to the Mountaintops, because the reduced frostbite goes a long way in this fight. All you need to do is get to the top of the mountain top and interact with the Power to gain its favor.
Similar to the original form, Caligo will occasionally take to the sky and target one ally. He will do a flyby multiple times with larger crystals flying towards the targeted player. At the end, though, he will land with the icicles, leaving crystals on the ground that will do constant damage.

On top of this, when he takes to the sky from this attack, he will leave a mist that will constantly tick frostbite. There’s no actual getting away from this. That’s why doing the Mountaintop’s Favor is almost mandatory for this fight as it will negate this damage considerably.
Another attack that’s pretty obvious to avoid is that Caligo will get on the ground, similar to how he transitioned to this form, and will charge up a large dark attack. You can hit him a couple of times but be sure to run as far away as possible to avoid the large radius attack. It hits multiple times, so it can be very dangerous.

Finally, for the new attacks, Caligo will do a 360-degree breath that will leave large explosive icicles on the ground. As you might expect, these are delayed explosions, so you need to get away from them as soon as they spawn. They will blow as soon as Caligo drops his tail down to the ground as if he’s pulling the pin on them.
The rest of the attacks are very similar to how Caligo acts in its original form, with most of its ice breath turning into darkness. Primarily, it just does more damage. For example, he will blow a 180-degree breath forward or will point down at the ground and hit everyone in a radius beneath him. It will leave new icicles on the ground to be avoided.
