There was quite a bit of news over the past few days including Capcom announcing a whole digital event just for Dragon’s Dogma.
Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary Event Happening this Week
This week will be theDragon’s Dogmadigital event which celebrates “10 Years of Dragon’s Dogma”. While fans were hoping to be hearing of a sequel at Capcom’s Showcase earlier this week, an anniversary event was announced instead. A celebration video will be posted on Thursday at 3 PM PT, but no details were given of exactly what this video will be about.

10 years is quite the milestone for the game which combined action combat with the option to recruit Pawns to fight alongside you. It’s been speculated for some time that Dragon’s Dogma 2 might be in the works, withsupposed leaksgoing as far back as 2020 with a list of games. While some were true, others have yet to surface. Games do get cancelled all the time, so whether it was once a project or not is hard to tell. Some even speculated back in 2019 whenDragon’s Dogma Online was shutdownin Japan, that it could mean Capcom was ready to unleash a second game.
It hasn’t been all quiet on the Dogma front, as the game received ananime Netflix seriesback in 2020. But what recently got fans' attention was the launch of the10th Anniversary websitewhich features a timeline of everything Dragon’s Dogma over the years. Even Hideaki Itsuno, the director of game had shared in the past interest in a sequel.
While I won’t get my hopes up, a sequel or even a remake of the game could be possible. I just hope they keep the amazing one-liners, and of course deer throwing. Let’s see if Capcom is ready to unleash the dragon once again.
