Enshrouded is a survival crafting action RPG, so that means it has a creative mode, right? Well… no, Enshrouded doesn’t currently have a creative mode, but it may get one in the future.
When will Enshrouded get a creative mode?
You heard it here first. Enshrouded islaunching without a creative mode. We know this because Enshrouded didn’t have a creative mode in the demo during Steam Next Fest in Fall 2023 and Keen Games themselves have said that creative mode isn’t coming to Enshrouded, but they have looked into that option.

Since Enshrouded is launching in early access, that meansthere is room for things to change and new content to be introduced. My hope is that Keen Games hears the outcry for a creative mode in Enshrouded and responds positively. Only time will tell, but it is unfortunate that Enshrouded features amazing building mechanics that can only be enjoyed in a survival mode setting.
From numerous Reddit threads andSteam discussions,people are disappointedthat Enshrouded is launching without a build-only mode, and I have to admit that I’m let down, too. The reason people are disappointed is because they are excited to push the limits of Enshrouded’s revolutionary voxel system that allows you to manipulate small squares for higher levels of customization. To be told we can only do that in survival mode is a tough pill to swallow.
While the builds that people do create in Enshrouded will bethat much more specialbecause they’ll be created without the help of flying or infinite resources, I believe the game is held back by the lack of a creative mode. But, again, keep in mind that Enshrouded is still in early access so anything can happen.
Let the players who want to enjoy the survival experience have that and let the players who want to focus solely on building do that.Why can’t we all have our cakeand eat it too? Hopefully, sooner than later, we do get to enjoy that as Keen Games includes a creative mode into Enshrouded.
But enough moping. Enshrouded still features amazing building along with incredible action-adventure mechanics. If you want toget your feet wetwith building in Enshrouded, you first need to knowhow to claim a spot for your base.
