Deadpool & Wolverine’s hilarious final battle featured countless Deadpool variants spilling out from The Void to stop the original Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from disrupting Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrin) villainous plans. Alongside the now iconic Ladypool (played by Blake Lively),the scene featured some bizarre alternate versions of Deadpool, with some hailing from Rob Liefeld’sDeadpoolcomics and others from the minds of Reynolds, Jackman, and director Shawn Levy. However, newly released concept art has revealed the bizarre variant that was sadly cut from the final film.
Concept artist David Masson shared the insane hybrid Deadpool variant onInstagram. The unique hero blends costume elements from both of the movie’s titular heroes, culminating in the “Wolverinepool.” Aside from the floating head variant, most of the alternative Deadpools inDeadpool & Wolverineonly feature slight variations on the character’s classic costume.The Wolverinepool might be the most unique variant, but sadly, it didn’t make the final cut. Deadpool & Wolverine
A follow-up to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 films starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
The Wolverinepool is one of many potential variants David Masson has shared online. In an earlier post, Masson compiled a short compilation of some scrapped Deadpool versions. The video featured a samurai variant, a World War II variant, a punk rocker variant, a Lucha Libre variant, and an old lady Deadpool.

A Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Book Is Coming
It’s normal for unused concept art from a movie to be revealed online following the film’s release. After all, any concept artist who works hard on designing characters for a major blockbuster wants to show off their work. However, some of theconcept art forDeadpool & Wolverineis being shown to the public to build hype for the upcoming release of theDeadpool & Wolverineconcept art book. In a movie that features so many cameos, there are sure to be hundreds of unused designs, costumes, and characters.
Brian Cox Slams Current State of Cinema, Blames Deadpool & Wolverine
Brian Cox isn’t pulling any punches about the current state of the movie industry and believes Hollywood is “beginning to implode.”
TheDeadpool & Wolverineconcept art book was confirmed by artist Wesley Burt on social media. While sharingunused costumes for Henry Cavill’s Cavillerine, Burt revealed that a concept art book is on the way. The artist said he didn’t know when the book would be revealed or released, only that it is confirmed to be in development. As well as announcing the concept art book, Burt also shared several unused costumes/variants from the movie. Most recently, Wesley Burt shared alternate costumes for Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova onX. The drawings played with different costume styles, ranging from baggy, flowing trenchcoats to a cargo pants and vest look (reminiscent of Lara Croft).

Wesley Burt also shared a design for an unused Wolverine variant onX. Inspired by the “Age of Apocalypse” comic book run, this variant only has one hand. Sporting a black and red sleeveless vest, the variant looks eerily similar to Wesley Snipes’Blade costume inDeadpool & Wolverine.
