Darkest Dungeon 2 Sets to Leave Early Access May 8th

Red Hook the developer behind the dark fantasy roguelike Darkest Dungeon 2 have announced the title will be leaving early access on May 8th. The title was originally launched on PC inOctober 2021. The game features old favourites as well as new characters in this sequel. But you don’t have to wait until the full launch to check out the dungeon crawler as there is currently a free demo on Steam and the Epic Game Store. This limited-time demo is available until the end of Steam Next Fest ending on February 13th.

The combat system for the sequel will have a significant tune-up mechanically but will remain consistent with the first title. Players will meet their flawed heroes, who all have their quirks and stressors. This will affect how they play, including some maddening surprises. In a party of four heroes, you will be pitted against roguelike five-hour runs which include ominous mountains. These shorter runs will be designed to be a little less intimidating than the first, which had longer 40-plus hour campaigns.
