Crimson Desert, one of the most ambitious games of 2025, appears to have confirmed its release on Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to a retailer leak.

A title of this magnitude usually requires platforms likePC, PS5, or Xbox Series X/S—but now we know that Nintendo Switch 2 will also have its own version.

Crimson Desert Port for Nintendo Switch 2 Leaked
GameStop’swebsite listsCrimson Desertamong its upcoming releases for Switch 2—a version that had not been previously revealed.
It’s speculated that this version could be officially announced duringSummer Game Fest, the major event hosted by Geoff Keighley on June 6, which brings together the best of the gaming industry.

Another possibility is the rumoredNintendo Directthat the company is reportedly planning to support the Switch 2’s debut on June 5.
Can Switch 2 Handle It?
DespiteCrimson Desert’stechnical demands, it’s not far-fetched to imagine that Nintendo’s new console could handle a highly optimized version of the title.
Its capabilities have already beenshowcased with games like Cyberpunk 2077, whose port—according to Digital Foundry experts—rivals the Xbox Series S version and even surpasses it in some areas.

Adding to this are rumors of major AAA titles launching on the system, such asMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
These are visually stunning games: if Switch 2 can handle them, it should also be able to runCrimson Desertand its graphics engine.
That doesn’t mean the other versions will be compromised. In fact, the game will showcase all its technical prowess on PC, with support for DLSS 4 and ray tracing (on NVIDIA RTX 50 GPUs).
To experience it onPS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC—and now Nintendo Switch 2—we’ll have to wait until the end of the year, the game’s scheduled release window.
