The framework for the multiplayer title known as Project Sirius has been completed according to CD Projekt Red.
CD Projekt Red Has Completed Its “New Framework” For Multiplayer Project Sirius
The mysterious new The Witcher title that will bring multiplayer to the fantasy RPG world has just finished mapping out its “new framework” according to developer CD Projekt Red.
In case you missed it, The Witcher franchise has multiple projects in the works. This includes aremake of the original The Witcherpreviously under the name Project Canis Majoris and Project Polaris. But today we got more details about the multiplayer-based title Project Sirius.
Project Sirius
Yet to have its official name, Project Sirius remains under a veil of secrecy. One thing we do know is that CD Project Red have announced the “new framework” for the game is now finished. Recently the developer has even restarted the work on the project, trying to cut its losses. The game looked to be going down new experimental paths but ultimately didn’t quite meet the scope. Since then, the studio has begun anew, now stating the framework is finished.
Going Forward Not Backwards
It isn’t really a surprise that the developer is now willing to restart development on projects since the not-very-successful launch ofCyberpunk 2077. Plagued with bugs, glitches and didn’t quite match up to what was promised. However, the team has managed to fix a great deal of what was absent at launch with continual patches and updates. A new expansionPhantom Libertyis underway withnews expected to arrive in JuneduringSummer Game Fest.
Anything to avoid the repeat of the troublesome launch that ultimately led to Cyberpunk 2077 even being temporarilytaken down from the Playstation store. The studio seems to be erring on the side of caution, making sure the next big project, Project Sirius doesn’t follow the same course.

Hopefully this means The Witcher Project Sirius will fare better than CP2077. The title is being developed under The Molasses Flood studio. It’s unclear if the new direction means the game will remain a multiplayer title or whether this redirected course changing that too.
The Witcher has primarily been a single-player IP, withThe Witcher 3being its most popular title to date. Its resurgence of interest was sparked with the recentNetflix adaptation of The Witcherwhich starred Henri Cavill. But even its TV form is in for a change with thelead now being passed to Liam Hemsworth.
Project Sirius is currently in development.
