Galvanic Games started off the week with a great surprise for fans of Wizard With a Gun. It seems the game will receive a free content update on May 13 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XIS. Dubbed the “Better Together” update, it adds four-player co-op, difficulty modes and even custom difficulty settings, giving players a huge degree of control over their experience.

Better Together allows up to three Gunmancers to journey into the Shatter and take on the challenges within. Players should, however, take care to note that this won’t necessarily make the adventure easier. As the party grows, so does the number of enemies. Players should expect to see more powerful units as well. So, take care before taking on extra help.

Those who want true difficulty tweaks will be taken care of too. This update is set to add four different difficulties for players to choose from. These include Ranger (easy), Gunslinger (normal), Sheriff (hard) and Outlaw (very hard).

As for how exactly the experience differs between difficulties, one example is that there are fewer penalties for mistakes and failures in Ranger mode. This is starkly different from Outlaw mode, wherein one wrong move means almost certain death.

For those who really want a specific flavor of challenge, the update will also add custom difficulty settings. Examples of what players can change range from enemy strength and speed to the penalties for death. Tweaking these along with the other options should allow for just about any kind of Wizard With a Gun experience one could want.

Players Can Also Adjust the Experience to Their Liking

For those who aren’t terribly familiar with the game, Wizard With a Gun is a sandbox survival experience set in a magical wilderness and pits players against all manner of dangerous creatures. As they delve into this place, known as the Shatter, players must investigate any arcane mysteries they happen across to better equip themselves for the challenges that lie even further on.

Some gear can be crafted from gathered materials, while other items can just be found along the way. Either way, getting better gear and honing those gun skills will be the only way to make it to the end.

Wizard With a Gun is now available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Review: Wizard With a Gun

The path of the Gunmancer may not be the most complex, but it still makes for an awesome journey nonetheless in Wizard With a Gun.
