Six classesare available inPath of Exile 2at this stage, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Path of Exile 2 is a multiplayer game that can be enjoyed with friends or other helpful players, but you can also complete the entire campaign and beyond on your own. Taking on the hordes of enemies in Path of Exile 2 by yourself does require a strong build, however.

Path of Exile 2: How to Beat Count Geonor

If you’re not sure how to get through Ogham Manor, then Path of Exile 2: How to Beat Count Geonor is the guide for you

If you prefer a solo mission and are looking for the best class to get you through to theend game, we have listed below all the best ones for the job.

Flame Witch poe2 2

The Best Class for Solo Play

The Witch, when built correctly, can be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. The Witch has a lower DPS than most other classes in PoE 2, so you have to take a different approach than you would for something like a Warrior or Mercenary.

The Witch, while not particularly strong on her own, can summon Minions to do most of her dirty work for her. They, like the Witch herself, don’t do a whole lot of damage, but there is power in numbers. And withenough Spirit, you can summon a small army of Minions.

Path of Exile 2 Ascension

The main draw card of the Minions is not their power, however, but their ability to absorb damage for you and distract the enemy.

Path of Exile 2: How To Unlock Ascension Classes

Ascending is a major milestone for your character in Path of Exile 2, so here’s how to finally unlock your Ascension.

When you have ten or more Minions running around the battlefield, most of the enemies will be focused on them rather than you. This leaves you free to hang out in the background, out of harm’s way, to pelt the unsuspecting foes with spells while your Minions soak up all of that damage.

Flame Witch poe2 3

The Witch and her army of Minions can melt through the thickest hordes in PoE 2, especially if you run the Fire Witch build and pick the Infernalist Ascendancy after completing the Trial of Chaos and/or theTrial of the Sekhemas.

The Witch’s Minions will essentiallybecomeyour party during your solo mission. Bosses can become a little trickier with the Witch, but her epic ability to fight through hordes of enemies without getting a scratch makes her the best solo class to run in Path of Exile 2.

poe2 Mercenary

Best Solo Class Alternatives

While I believe that the Witch is the best of the bunch, not everyone is going to feel that way.

Everyone has different play styles when it comes to gaming, and one class isn’t going to suit everybody. If you have a more hands-on approach or want atruesolo experience without a team of Minions to back you up, there are still some great options for solo play.

The Mercenary

The Mercenary has a high-damage output thanks to its proficiency with powerful crossbows, which is extremely important when it’s you against the world in PoE 2.

Combine those crossbows with Skill Gems likeFragmentation Rounds, which cause your shots to explode into tiny pieces of shrapnel that litter the battlefield and lodge themselves into multiple enemies at once, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for success.

In addition to bolts, you can also fire grenades from your crossbow with Skill Gems likeFlash GrenadeandExplosive Grenade. These can become incredibly powerful when combined withExplosive Shot, which detonates any grenades on the field and can effectively cover the whole screen with explosions.

The Witchhunter Ascension for the Mercenary is also one of the best in the game.Zealous Inquisitionis a Skill on the Witchhunter Skill Tree that can potentially one-shot enemies, allowing you to melt through basically anything in one shot, even bosses.

The Mercenary’s high-damage output and ability to one-shot enemies make it one of the best classes in Path of Exile 2 in general, and an excellent choice for solo play.

The Sorceress

The Sorceress is another high-damage class that harnesses the power of the elements to control the battlefield. And since she is so versatile, there are plenty of paths you can take with the Sorceress that can see you through to the end game.

The Comet Stormweaver build was the strongest option to go for. It has since been nerfed, but there are still plenty of incredibleSorceress buildsthat can decimate almost anything around you incredibly quickly.

Path of Exile 2: Best Gear Farming Methods

Get geared up fast!

One approach you could take with the Sorceress is to get yourself anOmen Scepterthat inflicts your foes with Malice, making them weak to crit. You can combine this with theCast on Critical StrikeBuff, which triggers all socketed Support Gems when you land enough critical hits.

If you haveCometas one of those socketed Skills, you may hit everything in your vicinity with a freezing comet that deals incredible damage. These three simple things already create an absolutely formidable combination, and you still have several more Skill Slots to fill.

The Sorceress' massive AoE damage and incredible elemental proficiency make for a character that is great with both crowd control and bosses, and, of course, perfect for solo play as well.
