At its recentWWDC 2025 keynote, Apple mentioned Siri only twice, and for good reason. Earlier this year, the Cupertino-based companyhad to delaysome of the more personalized features it showcased for Siri at WWDC 2024 because it needed more time to develop them. At the time, Apple said it would roll out its more personalized Siri in “the coming year.”

Now, thanks to a new report, we might have a better idea of when to expect Siri’s long-awaited upgrades. According toBloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has set an “internal target date” for its delayed Siri update for the spring of 2026, with its iOS 26.4 software update.

While there isn’t an exact launch date yet, just a spring 2026 timeline, Apple typically releases its .4 software updates in March. iOS 18.4 was released in March of this year, and iOS 17.4 was released in March 2024. So March could be a possible timeframe to expect.

iOS 26 has officially been unveiled, and here five of the most useful features coming with the update.

What’s going on with Siri?

Apple announced it was delaying its more personalized Siri in March

This convoluted Siri chapter at Apple beganat WWDC 2024, when Apple showcased an upgraded version of Siri with enhanced personalized AI features. Based on what was demonstrated last year, Siri was able to converse more naturally with users, understand personal context, and read what’s happening on your screen with on-screen awareness.

These features were initially expected to launch this year with a software update to iOS 18. However, in March, Apple announced it had to delay Siri’s major AI upgrade, stating at the time, “It’s going to take us longer than we thought to deliver on these features” and that the company anticipates “rolling them out in the coming year.”

Fast-forward to WWDC 2025, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, remarked at the beginning of Apple’s keynote that Siri “needed more time to reach our high-quality bar” and that Apple looks “forward to sharing more about it in the coming year.”

To avoid repeating last year’s mistake, Apple did not showcase anything new about Siri at WWDC this year. Instead, it focused on itsLiquid Glass redesignand new features coming with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, and more.

…by the time Apple’s more personalized version of Siri launches in the spring of 2026, it will have been 18 months since it was first announced, and a year since it was initially delayed.

So, if you’ve been waiting to hear and see more about Apple’s more personalized version of Siri, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

In addition to Mark Gurman’s report that Siri’s upgrade will arrive in the spring of 2026, in a WWDC interview withTom’s Guide, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Greg “Joz” Joswiak, was asked if people could expect Siri in 2026, not 2025. Joz responded to the question with “Yeah, that’s what we said, yeah,” confirming many people’s speculation that Siri’s upgrade would land in 2026, not in 2025 with the iPhone 17 lineup.

This means that by the time Apple’s more personalized version of Siri launches in the spring of 2026, it will have been 18 months since it was first announced, and a year since it was initially delayed.

Apple is expected to reveal and launch theiPhone 17 seriesin the fall, so it will be interesting to see if it gives a sneak peek of its upgraded version of Siri then, or if it will wait for the new year to begin sharing more details about it. Until then, Apple still has some exciting things in store for this year, including its Liquid Glass redesign for all its operating systems, the iPadtaking on more Mac features, and its rumorediPhone 17 Pro redesignandiPhone 17 Air.
